Azeroth Survivors Hunter Guide

Start with Auto Shot, understand the recorded Marksman Hunter build, choose lifesteal and cooldown jewellery, and separate fresh runs from developed characters.

Original V0.90.0 Hunter and talent menus · Sigmun recording and description, 14 October 2026 · No guaranteed card sequence or current-patch damage benchmark.

A fresh Hunter starts with Auto Shot; the Kill Shot capstone later starts runs with Aimed Shot. In Sigmun's recorded Marksman example, the stated jewellery priority is a lifesteal ring or amulet, then a cooldown trinket, then damage; a cooldown ring is the offered alternative. The high-damage run uses developed talents and permanent gear, so its result is not a fresh-account benchmark.

Start with Auto Shot and space to move

The original class menu lists Auto Shot as Hunter's starting spell. Its description emphasises ranged arrows, traps and volleys while keeping distance. Movement therefore remains part of the plan even though attacks fire automatically.

For a first attempt, learn the movement and level-up controls before trying to reproduce a developed character's damage. The run can hold six spells; a named ability from a recording is not proof that a new character already has it selected.

The zero-talent start differs from a developed Marksman. The current Kill Shot tooltip explicitly starts each run with Aimed Shot once its 30-point and Rapid Fire prerequisites are met.

Follow the jewellery priority the creator actually states

Sigmun's 14 October description gives the following order. It refers to temporary run jewellery, which is separate from permanent class equipment.

Jewellery order stated in the Hunter recording description
PriorityPreferred effectAlternative or limit
1Lifesteal ring or amuletObtain the effect when offered; no fixed named item is required in the description
2Cooldown trinketA cooldown ring is the creator's stated fallback
3DamageThe creator then focuses on damage and places less emphasis on double casts
Unconfirmed optionExperience trinketThe creator says he has not tried it; it is not an established replacement

Verified talent effects and prerequisites

These tooltips were read directly in the original V0.90.0 menu on 15 October 2026. A “next-rank preview” was inspected at zero allocated ranks: it is not a tested maximum-rank value. Named milestone requirements are listed separately from points spent; no points were allocated during this check.

Keep Aimed Shot and Kill Shot in their progression context

The recording's build direction is Marksman with Aimed Shot. At 59:29–59:46, the creator recommends going down Marksman to reach Kill Shot. That identifies a progression goal, not a complete allocation for a new account.

The creator distinguishes the early exploratory attempt from the later scaling run, and discusses substantial existing talents and gear. Before comparing your damage with the title, compare the spell setup, permanent equipment and talent state as well. The video does not isolate which one of those variables accounts for a particular damage increase.

Read your actual current tree and the talent progression rules. Do not substitute a WoW Classic Hunter calculator or the separate GitHub reconstruction for the original game's requirements.

Adapt when the run offers something different

The priority above is an example with random offers. These follow-up decisions apply its stated order without assuming a guaranteed item sequence.

Hunter decisions around the documented example
What happenedHow to interpret the next choice
A lifesteal ring appears before an amuletThe stated plan accepts either jewellery slot for lifesteal
No cooldown trinket appears, but a cooldown ring doesThe ring is an explicitly supported alternative in this recording
The complete jewellery setup is unavailableUse the improvements actually offered; do not describe the recorded setup as already assembled
Your new Hunter has much less damageCompare talent and permanent gear investment before changing every run choice
A card would add a seventh intended spellThere are six spell slots; account for the spells already selected
An experience trinket looks temptingTreat it as an untested variation of this source, not a proven part of the recipe

Prepare the Hunter you actually own

Use Collection to inspect the Hunter's permanent loadout before a run. Its gear and progression are separate from another class's development. The equipment layer table explains why farming a boss item is different from finding a lifesteal ring during an attempt.

The inspected first zone is Elwynn Forest, with Edwin VanCleef listed at 16:00. The main menu says his defeat opens Duskwood. The Hunter loot lookup lists the Tracker's set and Short Bow. The bow occupies Ranged, not Main Hand, and its inspected Common effect is +8.4% damage dealt.

Export a save before changing browsers. A good recorded run does not help if the developed account you intended to use is left in another browser's storage.

Inspect the original menu references

Open the inspected talent tooltip sheet or the nine individual Elwynn item panels at full size. These captures preserve the original menu text; values and prerequisites above were read from those panels, not inferred from World of Warcraft.

Hunter questions

Is Aimed Shot the starting spell?

Auto Shot is the fresh, zero-talent starting spell. The current Kill Shot capstone changes the start of every run to Aimed Shot, so the answer depends on your permanent talents.

Can I use a cooldown ring instead of the trinket?

Yes, that is the alternative explicitly stated in Sigmun's description for this example.

Will a fresh Hunter reach the damage in the video title?

The source does not establish that. It uses substantial progression and is not a controlled fresh-account test.
