Read the repository’s own project boundary
The OutThisLife README explicitly separates the original fan game from this local build. The reconstruction uses the benilla / wenilla engine and describes a Rust and Bevy implementation.
For the original playable project, use Aethus’s browser page or the archive linked there. A matching game name in a repository does not make that repository Aethus’s published source.
Which requirements belong to the rebuild?
The README’s build process names Rust, make, curl and unzip, a WebAssembly toolchain, and roughly 5.5 GB of client-data downloading. These are source-build requirements for that project, not installation steps for the original linked Windows package.
The repository also says it does not ship Blizzard game assets and reads client data at runtime. This guide has not run its fetch scripts or checked the resulting build. Use the repository’s own instructions if you intentionally choose that project.
Keep its features and saves in their own scope
The reconstruction README describes its own character picker, movement spell, camera and level-up cards. Those descriptions do not verify the same controls or progression in the original game.
The original’s inspected menus have Collection, Drop Tables, Talents and Saves. A feature missing from a particular reconstruction does not mean it is missing from the original. Likewise, this material does not establish save compatibility between the two projects. The original save guide covers the original game’s export and import interface only.
